How to Shop & Ship

This page explains our Shopping, Shipping and Handling process. Understanding the shopping process as well as the available shipping options will facilitate a hassle free and seamless shopping experience. If for any reason you're still unsure and would like further clarity please Email Us.

Creating Your Account
You don’t have to Create an Account to shop with us, but it’s rather convenient if you do. It will enable you to: check out faster when making a purchase, save multiple shipping addresses, access your order history, track new orders and save items to your wish list. In addition, you have the option of subscribing to our monthly newsletter that will provide you with handy tips and advice on frames and photographs. You will be first in the know, with regard to specials or promotions.

Based on system approval reseller accounts receive discounted pricing once logged in to their account.

Viewing and Selecting Products
If you've created an account for yourself, log in on arrival. The Categories panel at the top of the page allows you access to our full The Gallery System® product range. Having selected a category, you are able to compare products or sort products in that category according to price or other criteria. Clicking on an individual product takes you to that products description page. Apart from a detailed description of the product, you can also view enlarged examples of the product you are interested in purchasing.  Add the product/s and the quantity required to your shopping cart. You can carry on browsing through the store, adding items to your cart as you go.


Once satisfied with your selection, click on the View Cart link/icon. This link is always visible at the very top of every page, and once selected, provides a visual list of all the products placed in your shopping cart. Here you may change product quantities or remove and delete products from your cart, as you please. Remember, you are under no obligation to buy anything you have placed in your cart and you can simply sign out and walk away from your cart at any time. If you need to run along, but want to return later, our database will generally save your cart contents for at least 48 hours. When you return and login to your account, simply click on the View Cart link at the top of the homepage and your cart should be as you left it.

Having decided to make a purchase and having finalised your selection within your cart, you're required to click on the Calculate Shipping & Handling link in order to see the shipping costs pertaining to your intended purchase. You will need to select your province if in South Africa and then click on the Calculate Shipping button. Depending on your location, you have the choice of up to 5 different shipping methods, one of which you will need to select in order to complete the ordering process. Having selected the best option for you, please click on the Update Shipping Cost button in order to add this cost to your order total. You may now Proceed to Checkout. On the Express Checkout page you have the added option of supplying a separate Shipping and Billing address, just in case you would like to surprise someone with a fantastic gift. If you're logged into your account you will find this part to be a complete breeze.

Payment Options
We currently only accept Electronic Bank Transfer Payments. Once you click on the Proceed to Payment button you will be supplied with The Gallery System's® banking details.

Gift Certificates
You're able to Purchase a Gift Certificate for any occasion by clicking on the Gift Certificates link at the top of any page. Gift certificates are e-mailed to the recipient in a gift format with your special message included. Please note that gift certificates cannot be exchanged for cash and is non transferable or assignable. Only one gift certificate can be used per transaction. Certificates can only be redeemed towards the products listed in the The Gallery System® online stores catalogue and are not redeemable on orders already placed with The Gallery System®.

Product Reviews
At the bottom of every individual Product Description Page you're able to comment and review the product for the benefit of others. We always appreciate feedback from our customers and you're welcome to let us know your comments, whether positive or negative. You may also post your comments here.

Delivery Options
The shipping destination within South Africa will determine the shipping options available to you. The delivery options available to you are as follows:

  1. Timefreight ships our Hanging Track – Based on product availability, countrywide delivery takes place within 48-72hrs from order completion. Based on product weight or volume, delivery charges vary depending on whether you live in a major centre or an outlying area. Outlying areas are defined as anything more than 50km outside the town or city designated as a major centre. If there are two or more major centres in a selected province select the outlying area of the major centre closest to you.
  2. DSV or Skynet ships our Hanging Hooks and Cables – Selected areas within South Africa within 48-72hrs from order completion with similar criteria as mentioned above.

Delivery Companies
In order to supply you as the customer with the best possible delivery options for your area, at the best prices, we have partnered with more than one reputable courier company. This allows each company to work to their individual strength and niche as a service provider.

Delivery Charges
The shipping rates for most items we sell are weight or volumetric based. The weight of any such item can be found on its Product Description Page. The volumetric weight generally takes precedence over it's physical weight. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we employ, all weights are rounded up to the next full kilogram. Delivery charges vary depending on the physical or volumetric weight of the products ordered, the service you select as well as your delivery destination. Please note that delivery charges are non-refundable.

Risk of Loss / Insurance
All items purchased from The Gallery System® and deliverable via a courier company are insured. This added cost is not included in the delivery price but is carried by The Gallery System® as a commitment to service excellence and your complete peace of mind.

Product Availability and Delays
Due to the imported nature of The Gallery System®, we may at times have delays as we wait to receive certain consignments. We will inform you as soon as possible if, for any reason, the manufacturing or shipping of the goods you have ordered are delayed or postponed due to material shortages, import delays or higher than anticipated demand that is beyond our control. The Gallery System® will supply you with an adjusted product availability and delivery timescale at which time you may choose to accept the adjusted fulfillment date or request a refund.

Delivery Arrangements
You will be notified via e-mail or phone call once your order is ready. Your selected courier will further confirm and finalise delivery arrangements with you at this time as needed.
